The Corporation will maintain water user lists in its files.
Water user services shall be classified according to the type of water user hookup.
All changes in water user service type must be processed through the Corporation's office.
The types of water user service currently classified by the Corporation are:
Rural Household, Livestock, and Special.
These are defined as follows:
- RURAL HOUSEHOLD:
- A water user hookup to a single family dwelling or trailer or place of business or other approved service location not within the limits of a recognized municipality. With approval of the Corporation, certain family businesses or other special situations may similarly qualify for service to a household and separate building through one meter. Water use at said hookup shall be restricted to household, lawn watering and livestock use.
- LIVESTOCK:
- A metered water user hookup which is restricted to livestock use. Service lines for these hook-ups will only originate from mainlines which are there to serve household hook-ups. The maximum service line length without added cost to the User shall be 20 feet into the property.
- SPECIAL BULK:
- Any metered water user hookup which cannot be adequately served
by a standard (5/8" X 3/4") meter assembly and places special demands on the system
will be provided service based on a water purchase contract.
The following are examples of "Special" hookups:
recognized towns with municipal distribution systems, rural water systems, feed lots,
motels, car washes, filling stations, dairies, laundromats, multiple housing facilities,
mobile home and trailer courts, factories, schools, and colonies.
Classes of Special Users are:
- Class I Special User: Those special Users who provide their own storage and pressure and maintain wells for peaking needs.
- Class II Special User: Those special Users who provide their own storage, have all water needs provided by Southern Black Hills, have a population less than 175 and use less than 45,000 gallons per day.
- Class ill Special User: Those special Users who have Southern Black Hills supply all the water and storage and pressurize an existing distribution system.
