The Regular Meeting of the Board of Directors of the Southern Black Hills Water System was held at the Sentinel Federal Credit Union, Custer, South Dakota on Thursday, August 29, 2019.
Treasurer Baird called the meeting to order at approximately 1:00 p.m.
ROLL CALL–     The following Board Members were present:   DeFries, Peplinski, Seaboldt, Beard and Baird.   Absent board members were Smith, Wick, and Kraus.  Others in attendance was Don Peterson.  
AGENDA –   Motion by Seaboldt, 2nd by Beard to approve the agenda.  Motion approved unanimously.
MINUTES - Motion by DeFries, 2nd by Beard to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 25.  Motion approved unanimously.
TREASURER’S REPORT – Don Peterson presented the treasures report for August.  The report was reviewed by the board members.  Motion by Peplinski, 2nd by Seaboldt to approve the August report as read. Motion approved unanimously
OLD BUSINESS
Managers’ Report
Don Peterson informed the Board that the movement of the well pit from the Irvines property to adjoining property is being completed this week.
              Don Peterson notified the board that the hardware and software upgrade at the water treatment plant has been completed.
Don Peterson informed the Board the 2017-2018 audit is still on-going.
Don Peterson informed the Board that a letter will be sent to possible water users in the Hermosa and Spring Creek area.  The letter informs them of a meeting to be held on Saturday September 28th at 10AM in the Hermosa Public School. The meeting will allow landowners in the area to ask questions and pass along their concerns for water in their area.  Seaboldt made a motion to send out the letter, 2nd by Beard.  Motion passed unanimously.
Don Peterson informed the Board that the budget committee’s work will be presented at the September meeting. 
Don Peterson informed the board that the Casey Well house will not be completed this year but will be started next spring due to contractors scheduling.

The next meeting of the Southern Black Hills System Board will be September 26, 2019, 1:00 PM at Sentinel Federal Credit Union in Custer.
ADJOURNMENT -    Motion by Seaboldt, 2nd by Beard to adjourn the meeting at approximately 2:00 PM.  Motion approved unanimously.
